Many of you know that I have been using the Gallup Strength Finder assessment for many years. Four years ago I approached Gallup about training and becoming an affiliate. Their distribution model was solely through the books by Tom Rath so no, they were not interested.
However that all changed in 2013. Gallup changed their model to a coaching network. They now have the vision of everybody in the world knowing and applying their strengths. They want to change the world by having people focus on what they are good at, rather than what they lack.

Gallup’s initial goal is one billion people supported by one million trained coaches. Realistic??? Well Gallup are a big force in the world. They are the world’s leading engagement survey company. They advise world leaders. They conduct global surveys like the 2013 “State of the Global Workplace” survey. (This survey, across 142 countries roughly and 180 million employees, found that only 13% of employees worldwide are engaged in their work. The good news; it’s up 2% on two years earlier.) more
Most importantly they have been developing Strength Finder for over 40 years. Over 8 million people across the world have taken the assessment and as a result they have a great deal of data on which to base some compelling claims.
Gallup have demonstrated that in strengths focused cultures, on average, people are 6 times more engaged in their work, productivity is up by 12.5% and profitability by 8.9%. It seems simple but sadly such cultures are relatively rare. Most of our education and personal development is based on improving areas of weakness.
